The Run at Rosebank - Summary

The Run is a very special property:

*40.59 Hectares (100 Acres) of magnificent volcanic soil which will grow almost anything.
*It is the “Big Scrub” red soils originating from Mount Warning in North Eastern NSW that makes The Run at Rosebank and its neighbours so exceptional.

Ideal Location:
*35 minutes by road from Byron Bay.
*35 minutes by road from Ballina and Airport.
*30 mins by road from Lismore and Airport.
*45 minutes by road from the Gold Coast and Airport.
*Adjacent to the famous Nightcap National Park  the Wian Wian Rainforest National Park and spectacular Minion Falls.
*Easy access to Mount Warning, The Border Ranges and the Tweed River.
*In the centre of Australia's (and the world's) premier Macadamia growing area.

The Run location map

Water is a feature:
*Rainfall 1500 to 2500 mm per year.
*Tank storage (potable) 100,000 litres.
*The Western Boundary is formed by Boomerang Creek a major permanent river rising directly from the rainforest catchment of the Nightcap National Park which is credited with having the highest rainfall in Australia.
*Within the Eastern Boundary is Norris Creek a permanent creek, on which the Run has a pump station and 43 Ml licence.

Flora is spectacular:
*Magnificent examples of many ancient rainforest trees including old remnant cedars.
*20-30 year old plantation stands of many species, eucalyptus, hoop pines, tallowwood etc.
*House fruit trees include mangoes, limes, avocados, lemons, starfruit, tangelos, oranges, sapote.

Fauna abounds:
*Koalas visit often.
*Wallabies common but of no nuisance.
*Birds of all types, Owl, Pigeons, Rosellas, Parrots, Cockatoos, Lyre birds, many others.
*Platypus is not common but can be found if approached carefully in Boomerang Creek and have been seen also in Norris Creek.

Macadamia farm:
*2 x Macadamia Orchards totalling approximately 1500 mature trees.
*Of a small size sufficient to form a business base to satisfy commercial (primary producer) status, without becoming a major time or capital consuming business.
*If appropriate can be an excellent base for further expansion in the industry.
*Plenty of room and suitable land for expansion to 4000 trees or more.
*In the centre of Australia's (and the world's) premier Macadamia growing area.
*Efficient, experienced, economic contract services available for specialist tasks, including spraying, harvesting and processing.

*Previously (30 years ago) this was a dairy farm with a then "state of the art" 4 stand walk through dairy building (still standing) running maybe 100 Head.
*Currently the property is fenced to allow approx half to be used for cattle.
*There is a good set of steel yards and loading ramp.

Site for Other Business ventures :
*The current owner's main interest lies in the design and management (from his office at The Run) of a suite of e-commerce web sites, for businessess in which he has an interest, the operations of which are located elswhere.
*Any number of other ventures could be operated from the Run, the "Barn" facilities in particular could possibly be used more productively as a warehouse, showroom or offices.
